Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the United Kingdom and one of the most popular adventures in Lochaber. The name, ‘Ben Nevis,’ comes from the Gaelic, ‘Beinn Nibheis.’  ‘beinn‘ is the common Gaelic word for ‘mountain’  ‘nibheis‘ is most commonly translated as ‘malicious’ or ‘venomous’ giving us the “Venomous Mountain!”
