Kayak Loch Ness near Inverness offers kayaking at our award-winning Centre. Beginners outdoor activity? Look no further than Kayak Loch Ness, join us to try and spot the monster from the water.

Join us on the Caledonian Canal and paddle down onto Loch Ness to enjoy our local knowledge of culture, history & wildlife. Our kayak guides will give you a wonderful, enjoyable and safe experience.

No experience is necessary. Equipment provided. Experiences run from April to September.

We meet customers at Dochgarroch Lochs only 4 miles from Inverness. There are toilets on-site and ample parking. Full Covid mitigation in place on activities.

Half day Loch Ness kayaking tour

Kayak Loch Ness. Half day (3 hour) kayaking trips from the Caledonain Canal into Loch Ness.

Enjoy a wonderful beginners paddle along the Caledonian Canal and into Loch Ness, search for the monster and stop to see the Loch Ness inland lighthouse. Enjoy a wonderful, relaxed activity with our experienced, knowledgeable guides.

If you’re a beginner to kayaking, perfect! Our guided kayaking tour is the ideal activity for you!  Experience the thrill of exploring the famous Loch Ness with our knowledgeable guide by your side, you’ll be able to explore the waters safely and enjoyably, while also learning about the fascinating history and wildlife of the area.

We provide all the equipment you need to get started, including kayaks, paddles, and safety gear. Once you’re kitted out, your guide will take you out onto the waters of the Caledonian Canal and lead you on a tour of the area’s most interesting and beautiful spots. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to hunt for the Loch Ness monster, as well as observe the historic inland lighthouse that sits on the shores of the Loch.

One of the highlights of the kayaking tour is the opportunity to hunt for the Loch Ness monster. While there’s no guarantee that you’ll spot Nessie, the Loch is home to a variety of other creatures that you might be lucky enough to see. Keep an eye out for rare otters, seals, and a variety of bird species, including herons, cormorants, and ospreys.

At our kayak launch site there is free parking for our customers, making it easy for you to access  Kayak Loch Ness by car. We’re also conveniently located for public transport, so you can easily reach us by bus from Inverness city centre.

With all equipment provided, and an experienced guide to show you the way, you’ll be able to explore the area in safety and comfort, while also learning about the fascinating history and wildlife of the area. Activity:

You will be welcomed by our guide at the canal lock gates, where the full experience will be explained to you. Following this you will be issued with a buoyancy aid, paddle and kayak. After a few minutes to adjust your equipment, we head out onto the water.

Experienced local guides. Cost includes hire of kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid and instruction. Please bring along waterproofs and spare shoes as these will get wet. Have a set of dry clothes and a towel in your car in case you get wet.

Toilets are available at An Talla Cafe and Gift Shop (day time only). Why not enjoy a coffee or a meal there after your kayaking?

Your safety is our priority. Trips are weather dependent and if it not safe to paddle a refund will be given. This is the cost of your trip minus a £10 administration fee. Minimum age 11 years old, all under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Booking Conditions

Please note that all activities require participants to sign a consent form before taking part.

All trips are weather dependant and refunds minus a £10 administration fee will be given if our instructors deem it is not safe for the activity to take place.

All under 18 year olds must be accompanied by a guardian and all children taking part in activities must be over 11 years of age.
