Award winning Highland Experiences invited to meet First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon
Highland Experiences Ltd was privileged to be invited to meet to the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, last week as she congratulated the Scotland winners of the Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) Celebrating Small Business Awards at a reception in her official Edinburgh residence, Bute House.
Highland Experiences was the winner of the FSB Micro Business of the Year 2022 Award and invited to the event. Cory Jones, Director said he was pleased to be able to talk to the First Minister about the state of tourism in Wester Ross, post pandemic.
The First Minister spoke about the importance of small businesses in Scotland and how their work would be increasingly vital in the next year or two.
Speaking after the evnt, FSB’s National Chair, Martin McTague, said:
“It was a great honour to receive such a warm welcome from the First Minister at her official residence. Our Celebrating Small Business Awards showcase the best of the small business community across the country and, in these difficult times, it’s more important than ever that they know we’ve got their back.
The event, which took place on the evening of Thursday 3 November, recognised winners from 2022 and also those from the previous year, who had missed out on any sort of recognition event due to Covid.
Cory Jones said “Highland Experiences Ltd has grown over the past three years in spite of the pandemic. Through the hard work of our team of instructors on the water with groups and the back-office staff, clients have had exceptionally experiences. At this time everyone can benefit from time in the outdoors and having some fun. The work we do contributes to people’s mental health which we all know is increasingly important. ”
Highland Experiences has been running kayaking events out of Gairloch in Wester Ross, Loch Ness and on Skye in 2022.
