Winners of the HITA Best Outdoor Adventure Experience 2019. Gairloch Canoe and Kayak Centre (GCKC) is a winner! We are officially the Highlands and Islands Tourism Best Outdoor Adventure Experience 2019. Hundreds of entries were whittled down and at the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards 2019 (HITA) the winners were announced on November 1^st at the awards ceremony at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness.

Cory Jones who owns and manages the kayak centre said “We are blown away that the judges have given us a big thumbs up for our hard work and endeavour. This is a huge accolade for Gairloch Kayak Centre. A big thanks to Fraser Connal who has worked so well for us this year and to the team at Shieldaig Lodge Hotel for hosting the kayak centre. With 2020 being VisitScotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters (2020YCW) we are looking forward to growing our success next year.”

Gairloch Canoe and Kayak Centre is the Highlands and Islands Best Outdoor Adventure Experience.

The judges said that “Outdoor, Adventure and Wildlife experiences are a key part of what makes a visit to Scotland so unique and memorable and GCKC showed great attention to detail in their product development and in all aspects of the business and considered were fitted in with the local economy”.

These esteemed HITA are now in their 15^th year. Gairloch Canoe and Kayak Centre is now shortlisted for the national tourism awards. Named the Scottish Thistle Awards, they are organised by VisitScotland and supported by a panel of industry representatives. The Scottish Thistle Awards have for the  last 25 years been honouring individuals, businesses, partnerships and events for their innovation, excellence and success in the Scottish hospitality and tourism sector. Scottish Thistle Awards will be awarded in March 2020.
