What a great evening we had yesterday (July 26th) sea kayaking with Iris from the award winning Born05 digital agency. She and her partner Eric are discovering all the best places to go, things to see and activities to do on the NC500 (North Coast 500).

Highland Experiences has a base at Shieldaig Lodge Hotel which is pictured below. An old shooting and hunting lodge it is now a luxurious hotel with a very relaxed and informal feel. Our centre is in the lodge’s boat house where we can store our canoes and kayaks right next to the loch shore which makes for easy and efficient launching and landing. Shieldaig Lodge is a recently refurbished Victorian hunting lodge set in a 26,000 acre estate amongst stunning scenery of the West Highlands nestled next to Shieldaig Bay. Situated a short distance from the Highland village of Gairloch, the hotel retains the warm and welcoming atmosphere of its original 19th century origins.
